Crochet Angel Pattern
Skill Level: Intermediate
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in white and gold
- 3.5mm crochet hook
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Small amount of metallic thread (optional)
- Small beads or buttons for embellishments (optional)
Finished Size: Approximately 6 inches (15 cm) tall
Abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- hdc: half double crochet
- dc: double crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
- st: stitch
Body:
Start with white yarn.
Round 1: Create a magic ring, ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), 10 dc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the first dc. (10 dc)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first dc. (20 dc)
Round 3: Ch 1, 1 dc in the next st, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first dc. (30 dc)
Round 4: Ch 1, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 dc in the next st. Repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first dc. (40 dc)
Rounds 5-10: Ch 1, 1 dc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first dc. (40 dc)
Change to gold yarn.
Round 11: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st. Repeat from * to * around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (53 sc)
Rounds 12-15: Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (53 sc)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Wings:
Make 2.
Start with white yarn.
Row 1: Ch 9, sc in the 2nd ch from hook, hdc in the next ch, dc in the next 3 ch, hdc in the next ch, sc in the last ch. Ch 1, turn. (7 stitches)
Row 2: Sc in the first st, hdc in the next st, dc in the next 3 st, hdc in the next st, sc in the last st. Ch 1, turn. (7 stitches)
Row 3: Repeat Row 2.
Change to gold yarn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (7 stitches)
Row 5: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in the next 3 st, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (5 stitches)
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (5 stitches)
Row 7: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in the next st, sc2tog. Ch 1, turn. (3 stitches)
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (3 stitches)
Row 9: Ch 1, sc3tog. Fasten off.
Assembly:
- Attach the wings to the back of the body, positioning them slightly angled upwards.
- Stuff the body lightly with fiberfill stuffing.
- Create a loop for hanging by attaching metallic thread or white yarn to the top of the angel’s head.
- Optional: Add small beads or buttons for the face and embellishments on the wings.
