Materials Needed:

  • 5 skeins of chunky yarn (approximately 100 yards each) in your desired colors
  • 10 mm (US N/P-15) crochet hook
  • Scissors

Finished Size: Approximately 40 inches by 60 inches

Gauge: 6 stitches and 3 rows = 4 inches in double crochet (DC) stitch

Abbreviations:

Pattern:

Note: This pattern uses a multiple of 3 stitches plus 2 for the foundation chain.

Throw Blanket:

Foundation Row: Ch 98.

Row 1: Starting in the 4th ch from the hook, work 1 DC in each ch across. Turn. (96 DC)

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first DC here and throughout), sk the first st, 1 DC in the next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, repeat across until 1 st remains, 1 DC in the last st. Turn. (32 DC, 31 ch-1 sp)

Rows 4-50 (or desired length): Repeat Row 3.

Edging:

Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc evenly around the entire blanket, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in the center st of the corner 3-sc group from the previous round. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each st around, working 5 sc in the center st of each corner 3-sc group from the previous round. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc.

Fasten off and weave in ends.
