Crochet Christmas Tree Decoration

Materials Needed:

  • Green worsted weight yarn
  • 3.5mm crochet hook
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Small star or bead for the tree topper

Instructions:

Tree Base:

  1. Start with a magic ring (or ch 2 and work into the first ch).
  2. Round 1: Work 6 sc into the ring. Join with a sl st to the first sc. (6 sc)
  3. Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. Join. (12 sc)
  4. Round 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in the next st, 2 sc in the next st – repeat around. Join. (18 sc)
  5. Round 4: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st – repeat around. Join. (24 sc)

Tree Body:

  1. Rounds 11-20: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), hdc in each st around. Join. (30 hdc)

Tree Top:

  1. Round 31: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc2tog in the next 2 sts – repeat around. Join. (22 sc)
